Dr. Jessie Zook is a Colorado native whose passion for animals began at an early age.
She was an accomplished member of her college equestrian team and earned her bachelor’s degree in Biology, along with a minor in German, from the University of Hawaii. It was in Hawaii that her interest in marine and zoological medicine was sparked, setting the course for her future career.
Before pursuing veterinary school, Jessie was awarded a CBYX fellowship that took her to Germany, where she gained fluency in the language, interned at a zoo, and had the opportunity to travel across Europe—experiences that broadened her perspective and deepened her commitment to animal care.
She went on to earn her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from the University of Florida. Her clinical interests include marine and zoological medicine, ophthalmology, and surgery.
Outside of work, Dr. Jessie enjoys life with her husband, Alex, and their beloved dog, Kona. Her favorite pastimes include spending time with family, traveling, various outdoor activities, visiting the beach with Kona, and all things Disney.
